This number is for residents of South Carolina. When you call the number you must give your social security number and your Personal Identification Number (PIN). You should have picked a PIN when you began the Unemployment Benefits claim. After you enter your personal information, the phone system will tell you whether your check has been issued. If it has not been issued due to an error or problem, the system will tell you to report to your local Unemployment Benefits office for further information. The system will also tell you when your next eligibility interview is scheduled. You can call this number to check on your claim on Tuesday through Saturday only. This keeps the telephone line open for filing claims on Sunday and Monday.

    A second way to check your South Carolina Unemployment Benefits claim is to use the Online Claimant System. This is an online system that allows you to file your unemployment claims, check on your unemployment claims and keep track of all your personal information. When you go to the log in page, you will have to type in your social security number and your PIN. After logging in, you will have access to your personal information. One advantage of the online system is that you can check on your claim any day of the week. You can also file your claim for unemployment benefits any day of the week through the Online Claimant System.

    A third way to check on your unemployment benefits in South Carolina is to go to your One Stop Location and check in person. To do this, go to the South Carolina Employment Security Commission website and click on the link to finding your One Stop Location. By clicking on your home county, you will receive a list of One Stop Locations near you along with hours of operation. This would be the option to use if you are having difficulties with filing and/or checking on your unemployment benefits claims.
